The Crescent Moon Cafe houses the store for Lanelle Abueva-Fernando’s handmade ceramics. It is also a place where you can get away from the city and enjoy good food. The Cafe specializes in Southeast Asian food.
It does not have an a la carte menu, and the cook prepares what is fresh and available for the day. Buffet is available on Sundays or by request for big groups and functions. The Cafe and store are open Tuesday to Sunday at 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Lanelle Abueva-Fernando specializes in functional, handmade stoneware ceramics.She has been in the ceramic business since 1981. She graduated with a Certificate in Fine Arts from the University of the Philippines Diliman, later apprenticed with a potter in Hachijo Island, Japan for three years, and furthered her studies in ceramics at the Sun Valley Center For The Arts in Idaho, USA. After the eruption of Mount Pinatubo in 1991, Lanelle began incorporating volcanic ash glaze into some of her pieces. She also tied up with the EVA Charity Foundation, a foundation which supports indigenous people displaced by the eruption.She has had numerous solo and group exhibits. She supplies ceramic pieces to several restaurants, resorts, and hotels in the country and abroad.
